Recycle Greeting Cards Into Gift Tags

greeting card gift tagsAs you take down the tree and clean up the wrapping paper mess think about what you will do with the greeting cards you received this year (well, if people still send you paper Christmas cards in the mail).

I don’t have a lot of cards, but I have a few, and for the past few years I’ve tucked away the cards I received with the Christmas decorations because it just didn’t feel right to throw them away or recycle them.

I have the perfect solution now though. Go to a craft store, or ask your paper-crafting friends, and find a tag shaped punch. You could even use a circle, square or scalloped edge shape. Anything that’s not tiny will do. Then, punch out all the pretty parts of those greeting cards.

Use a regular circle hole punch to put a hole in each and attach them with ribbon, string, yarn, etc. to packages for cute, unique gift tags. Easy. And you reused something instead of just throwing it into the recycling.
